For those who don’t know Motion City Soundtrack are a band who I have loved since I was 16, there are most likely a lot of people like me. I discovered them through Blunt Magazine and was intrigued by their music and quickly fell in love. They were one of many bands who made my days better and put a smile on my face.

Since those days we have all grown up but one thing remains the same, the music. This was my fourth time seeing MCS and it is sad to say it’s the last but they put on an incredible show that took me back to being 16 not knowing what to expect in the world except for what this band sang about. Their lyrics have stayed true through the years and that’s why I have continued to love them.

As much as a Farewell Show means the end for a band, they are incredibly lucky to have the music live on in their place. I know personally that I will always come back to their albums to remind me not only of my youth, but also that it’s A-OK to be sick of the things I do when I’m nervous. Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling.

Thank you Motion City Soundtrack for the music, the experiences and for letting me tick photographing you off my bucket list. All the best to Justin, Matt, Josh, Jesse and Tony for when you play your last show.
